15-Year-Old Student Dies After Shooting Teacher at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde, Texas

A 15-year-old student died Monday morning after shooting his teacher during class at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Bulverde, Texas, according to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office. The teacher was hospitalized, and her current condition has not been released.

The incident occurred just after 8:30 a.m. local time at the high school, located about 30 miles north of San Antonio. Authorities said the student opened fire on a female teacher before turning the gun on himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a Facebook post, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office said, “We know this is incredibly difficult to hear. What we can tell you is this situation is contained, and there is no ongoing threat to students.”

The school district confirmed that the lockdown alarm was activated shortly after the shooting and that by 9:38 a.m., the school had been secured. Students were transported to Bulverde Middle School to be picked up by their parents.
