2016 Mugshot of Jacob “Jake” Lindemyer Resurfaces After Smoothie King Incident Involving Janiyah Mishelle Williams in Ann Arbor, Michigan

A past mugshot of Jacob Jake Lindemyer from 2016 has resurfaced online following his recent viral confrontation at a Smoothie King location in Ann Arbor involving former employee Janiyah Mishelle Williams.

The renewed attention comes after Lindemyer and his wife, Erika Lindemyer, were refused service by employees who stated they were uncomfortable serving him because he was wearing a hoodie featuring President Donald Trump’s name. The incident was captured on video and later went viral, prompting Smoothie King to terminate the employees involved and issue a public statement condemning discrimination.

Following the viral exchange, online users began circulating a 2016 mugshot of Jacob Lindemyer, along with details of his prior criminal history.

According to court records, Lindemyer has multiple felony convictions. He was previously sentenced to prison in 2005 for theft-related offenses connected to supporting a methamphetamine addiction. Records indicate he received an 18-month to five-year sentence for stealing from vehicles, followed by a consecutive sentence of 12 to 30 months for fleeing police.

In a later case, Lindemyer was arrested on a warrant for meth possession. Due to a prior 2008 Van Buren County drug conviction, the potential maximum sentence was reportedly doubled under Michigan law. Authorities stated that during a January traffic stop by the Michigan State Police, Lindemyer allegedly admitted obtaining methamphetamine from another individual. Evidence collected during that investigation was sent to a state lab, where one needle reportedly tested positive for his DNA, which was on file due to prior felony convictions.

Shortly after that stop, records indicate Lindemyer absconded from parole. Public records show at least three prior felony convictions.

The resurfacing of his mugshot and criminal history has added another layer to the already heated public discussion surrounding the Smoothie King confrontation.

At this time, the Ann Arbor incident itself did not result in criminal charges against Lindemyer or his wife. The broader controversy continues to generate debate online regarding political expression, discrimination claims, and how past criminal records factor into public disputes.
