A birthday party that was meant to be a night of music and celebration turned chaotic early Sunday morning after gunfire erupted inside a popular venue in Cincinnati.

The event was reportedly a birthday celebration for DJ Fresh, who had promoted the party online beforehand and said he had hosted similar events for about 14 years without major issues. According to police, shots were fired around 1 a.m., sending attendees running and triggering a large emergency response.
