A Wisconsin special education teacher, Nadia Horn, 22, has been charged with sexually abusing two 16-year-old boys, including incidents in which both students were reportedly present in the same room. Horn, who teaches at Eau Claire North High School, made her initial court appearance this week facing multiple child sex crime charges.
Allegations and Police Investigation
According to court documents obtained by WEAU News, Horn confessed to having sexual encounters with both students earlier this year. During a police interview, she reportedly claimed she did not see herself as taking advantage of the victims, stating that the interactions “felt mutual,” though she admitted that it was a “mistake.”
Because Wisconsin law sets the age of consent at 18, Horn faces serious charges, including:
- Second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16
- Two counts of child enticement
- Two counts of sexual assault by someone who works or volunteers with children
Horn posted a $15,000 cash bond and was released from Eau Claire County Jail shortly after her arrest. If convicted, she could face up to 40 years in prison and/or a $100,000 fine.
Timeline of Alleged Misconduct
Authorities allege that the abuse began in January, when Horn provided rides to a student who had been skipping classes. The student was eventually placed in her class, according to the complaint. Court documents detail further allegations, including:
- Purchasing an iPhone 14 for one student and engaging in explicit conversations over Snapchat
- Inviting students to her apartment, where sexual contact allegedly occurred
- Allegedly providing alcohol to the minors at her home
- Alleged encounters involving both boys, sometimes in the same room, with one student reportedly present while Horn had sexual contact with the other
Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage suggesting that Horn had multiple students visiting her apartment late at night.
School Response
Following her arrest, the Eau Claire Area School District suspended Horn without pay pending the outcome of the legal case and notified families of the situation.
Court Proceedings
Horn is expected to return to court on May 20 for a hearing. Investigators continue to review evidence, and authorities have indicated that the complaint involves multiple victims.
