A tragic off-road accident in Bibb County, Georgia, has claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy after a Dodge Ram 1500 overturned, ejecting him from the truck bed.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash occurred around 7:51 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, near the intersection of Vinson Road and Liberty Church Road. Authorities say the vehicle was traveling off-road when the driver lost control while maneuvering, causing the truck to overturn.
Harrison Doyle Morris, 16, was identified as the victim. Investigators say Morris had been riding in the exterior truck bed at the time of the crash and was ejected when the vehicle flipped. He was found unresponsive at the scene.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones pronounced Morris dead at the scene. His next of kin has been notified.
Others Injured, Investigation Ongoing
Officials confirmed that the 16-year-old driver, along with a front-seat passenger and a 15-year-old rear passenger inside the vehicle, were also injured in the crash. All three were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities say their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident was first reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at approximately 7:51 p.m., prompting deputies to respond to the scene.
