According to Sandra Aguinaldo's report on "24 Oras," two of the three 12-year-old youngsters are critically injured after being struck by falling debris from a building while walking at the corner of Roces and Tomas Morato after 4:30 p.m.

The children's parents have requested assistance as well as accountability from the building owner.

GMA Integrated News is still trying to acquire a statement from building management, but they have yet to receive one.

"A thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the incident and establish accountability," according to the police.

"We extend our prayers for their full and speedy recovery and stand in solidarity with their families during this difficult time," according to the statement.

On the other side, the Quebec government has stated that it will provide help to the victims and their families through its Social Services and Development Department.

"Please pray for their rapid recovery. At the same time, we have directed our relevant agencies to conduct an investigation and, if necessary, file a complaint against whoever is involved," the QC local government said in a statement on Tuesday night.

“We have also launched an appropriate investigation to hold whoever is accountable for an incident that could have been avoided. The safety and well-being of our citizens, especially our youth, is our primary concern,” it added. /cb
