According to a viral video, Nepal's finance minister, Bishnu Paudel, was allegedly attacked by a swarm of demonstrators.

Moneycontrol was unable to independently authenticate the video, as well as the incident's time and date.

In the footage, a guy is seen fleeing from a swarm of enraged demonstrators who kicked, punched, and pulled him until being rescued by onlookers.

Although the person's face is not clearly visible, many accounts identified him as Paudel.

The demonstrators also destroyed the minister's house in Bohoratpur, according to News18.

The development comes amid widespread protests over a government ban on social media, which was later overturned.

Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Oli resigned on September 9 after almost 48 hours of violent protests led to the death of at least 19 and injuries to several demonstrators.
