Joshua Rayshun Smith and Bloccboy Mikeg Killed in Parkway Village Shooting

Tragedy struck Parkway Village on Sunday afternoon when two men — including local figure Joshua Rayshun Smith, also known as Bloccboy Mikeg — were shot and killed in broad daylight.

According to the Memphis Police Department, officers rushed to Watson Street and Ashwood Street around 2:40 p.m. after reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found two male victims who had already succumbed to their injuries. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the official identities or ages of the victims, but family and community members confirmed that one of the men was Joshua Rayshun Smith, widely recognized as Bloccboy Mikeg.

The scene was chaotic, with over 20 squad cars swarming the neighborhood and officers stringing up crime scene tape as roads were blocked off. Residents looked on in shock as police combed the area for evidence.

Community leaders quickly stepped in. A local pastor was one of the first to arrive, saying he rushed down to Watson and Ashwood to provide comfort and support. “My goal is to come out here and find out what’s going on, connect with the families, and see what we can do to help,” he said, adding that other pastors were also on their way to the scene.

The deadly shooting has left Parkway Village shaken, as Memphis continues to struggle with escalating gun violence. Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
