Aung Khant Kyaw Zin and Girlfriend Arrested for Brutal Murder of Ma Su Myat Win Found in Plastic Bag Hanging on Air Conditioner at 32nd Beauty Land Hotel

Authorities in Yangon have arrested 18-year-old Aung Khant Kyaw Zin and his girlfriend in connection with the brutal killing of 23-year-old Ma Su Myat Win, whose dismembered body was discovered inside a blue plastic garbage bag hanging between two air conditioner units at the 32nd Beauty Land Hotel in Panbedan Township.

According to a statement from the National Defense and Security Council Press Office, the horrifying discovery was made on the morning of October 6, when hotel staff reported a suspicious bag outside the window of Room 502 on the building’s fifth floor. Upon investigation, police found the remains of a young woman whose internal organs and left thigh had been removed. The victim was later identified as Ma Su Myat Win, a resident of Nattalin Township in the Bago Region.

Following a swift investigation, authorities identified and arrested the main suspect, Aung Khant Kyaw Zin, from East Ward No. 7 in Thaketa Township, along with his girlfriend, Amon Aung, of East Shwe Gon Daing Ward in Bahan Township. Both were taken into custody on October 7. Police recovered several key pieces of evidence from the suspect’s home, including two steel knives believed to have been used in the killing, three mobile phones, and the clothes worn during the crime.

During interrogation, Aung Khant Kyaw Zin reportedly confessed that he was influenced by violent foreign TV series that depicted murder and body disposal techniques. On October 5, he allegedly arranged a meeting with Ma Su Myat Win through a Telegram channel named “LEADER” for paid sexual activity. While in Room 502 of the hotel, he attacked and killed her with two knives, imitating scenes he had watched on television.

After the killing, Aung Khant Kyaw Zin contacted his girlfriend, who came to the hotel to help clean up the blood and conceal the body. The pair placed the victim’s remains in a plastic garbage bag and attempted to hide it outside the window between air conditioning units.

Authorities have charged both individuals under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Police officials have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with the suspects expected to face severe punishment under Myanmar law for the gruesome act.
