Shocking new details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Hilary Todson, who was reportedly thrown from a three-storey building at Oxygen Hotel in Woji, Port Harcourt.

According to reports reaching our desk, the suspect has been identified as David Ilo, also known as David Emeka — alleged to be the “kito” (a slang term used within the LGBTQ+ community referring to someone who lures, extorts, or harms queer individuals).

Alleged Luring and Ransom Demand

Human rights group Minority Watch, an NGO advocating for the protection of marginalized communities, revealed that David Ilo Emeka was allegedly responsible for luring, kidnapping, and ultimately killing Hilary Todson.

According to the NGO’s statement, the suspect reportedly contacted Hilary’s mother, sending her his bank account number and demanding a ransom. When the ransom was not paid, and Hilary reportedly attempted to call for help, he was allegedly thrown off the third-floor balcony of Oxygen Hotel.

Community Outrage and Search for Justice

The gruesome killing has sparked outrage across social media and human rights circles, with many demanding justice for Hilary Todson and urging authorities to apprehend the suspect immediately.

A post from Minority Watch read in part:

“It’s only a matter of time before the killer’s photo and full identity are out. Whoever David Ilo is, someone out there knows your name and your face — and it’s just a matter of time.”

As of now, law enforcement in Port Harcourt has not released an official statement confirming an arrest or the full details of the investigation. However, pressure is mounting for authorities to act swiftly in locating and charging the suspect.
