Dr. Melanie Nadler Litt, Missing Marietta Dentist, Found Safe — Seen with Mystery Man Also Reported Missing

Cobb County, Georgia — The days-long search for missing Marietta dentist Dr. Melanie Nadler Litt, 52, has come to an unexpected end after police confirmed she was found safe on Sunday afternoon — in the company of another man who was himself reported missing.

The Cobb County Police Department announced the update on social media at 12:00 p.m., writing:

“As of 12:00 PM today (October 19, 2025), Dr. Melanie Litt has been located safe! The BOLO issued for her is cancelled.”

Dr. Litt had been reported missing Tuesday morning after she failed to arrive at work at Family Dentistry at Seven Hills in Dallas, Georgia. Friends said she had worked the previous day at a dental office on Villa Rica Way in Marietta, but her phone was later found inside her home — while her car was discovered abandoned behind a business off Barrett Parkway.

Throughout the week, police emphasized that no foul play was suspected, though concern mounted as days passed without contact.

That changed Sunday when local resident Billy Robertson spotted a woman matching Dr. Litt’s description and gave chase after recognizing her. According to Robertson, the dentist appeared to be with a man, and when confronted, the pair “looked like deer caught in headlights.”

In a video shared online, the unidentified man can be seen yelling for Robertson to stop filming, as Cobb County officers are heard in the background.

“Literally found missing woman and chased man,” Robertson wrote in a Facebook post. “I confronted them and she looked scared — then the guy grabbed her and took off with her. I gave chase. He tried to say her husband was after them.”

Robertson added that when police arrived, they arrested the man, who, in a bizarre twist, had also been reported missing by his own family.

In a follow-up comment thread, one user asked if the man had been detained. Robertson replied,

“Yes, apparently he was missing too.”

Authorities have not publicly confirmed the identity of the man or the circumstances under which Dr. Litt was found. It also remains unclear whether the two were romantically involved, though online speculation has described the situation as an “affair gone wrong.”

Dr. Litt, a respected dentist who had been scheduled to leave for a trip to Japan with her husband just days before she went missing, was last seen Monday night. Her husband, who was reportedly out of town visiting their son at the time, has not issued a public statement.

Police have reiterated that the case remains under investigation but say Dr. Litt is safe and unharmed.
