Georgii Dzugkoev, a Russian tourist, was seen in a viral video having sex with a woman in the back of a Hilux truck in Phuket

Phuket, Thailand — A Russian tourist has been arrested after a viral video showed him engaging in sex with a woman on the back of a moving pickup truck in Phuket, sparking outrage among locals and swift action from Thai authorities.

The man was identified as Georgii Dzugkoev, a Russian blogger with hundreds of thousands of followers online. The footage, filmed in the early hours of Wednesday, captured the pair performing sex acts on the open bed of a Toyota Hilux truck as it sped along a wet road.

Authorities confirmed that Dzugkoev was arrested later that same day at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok as he attempted to flee the country. The woman seen in the video also admitted to participating, telling police she had been paid 1,000 baht (about $23) to appear in the recording for Dzugkoev’s online content.

Thai officials say Dzugkoev faces charges of public indecency and violating the Computer Crimes Act for disseminating explicit content. He faces up to five years in prison and has already had his visa revoked and banned for 99 years, with deportation pending.

 

Another Russian national, identified only as “Alex,” was also detained for allegedly providing the pickup truck used in the filming. Police are still seeking the driver, who may face charges of reckless driving.

Local residents, furious after seeing the explicit footage, reported it to police, which triggered the investigation. Authorities stressed that such behavior is unacceptable in Thailand and vowed to take strong action against foreign nationals who disrespect local laws and culture.

The case remains under investigation as Dzugkoev and the woman await criminal prosecution in Phuket.
