Jayvon Maurice Givan Found Hanging From Tree in New Mexico — Family Disputes Suicide Ruling

Tragedy has struck after Jayvon Maurice Givan, a young man from Kansas City, was found hanging from a tree in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Authorities have ruled his death a suicide, but his family strongly believes he was lynched.

According to reports, Givan was discovered in the woods two days ago. Despite the official suicide determination, his family insists he was not suicidal and that the circumstances surrounding his death suggest foul play.

Family members say Jayvon had recently moved from Kansas City to New Mexico for a new job and a fresh start, describing him as motivated and in good spirits. “That is not the behavior of someone planning to take their own life,” relatives stated.

Concerns have also been raised over a disturbing pattern — three Black men have been found hanging from trees within the past month, sparking outrage and demands for deeper investigation.

The family continues to call for transparency and justice, urging authorities to reopen the case and conduct a full inquiry into Jayvon’s death.

Condolences go out to Jayvon’s loved ones and all those affected by this devastating loss.

@thatonegirlofficial_tt I tried my best to record this without getting emotional but when I think abt what black people have had to deal since this country's inception, I just get overwhelmed. And the fact that this happened to someone I know is so incredibly surreal. Jayvon Maurice Givan died just before his 30th birthday and finding out what happened made me sick to my stomach. I am disgusted by this country's state, I am disgusted by these hateful people, and I am disgusted by how much worse it's going to get. #JayvonGivan #news #BlackTikTok #trending #treyreed ♬ original sound - That One Girl
