Information reaching our desks indicates that there is a growing call for Milnerton High School rugby player, Briint Davids, to be removed from the team after a shocking video surfaced showing him beating fellow learner, Katlego Ncapai, with a belt on school grounds.
The footage, reportedly filmed at Milnerton High School, shows Davids and others attacking Katlego, while several students can be heard laughing and cheering in the background. The video has sparked nationwide outrage and renewed concerns about the culture of bullying and violence in South African schools.
Cape Town-based socialite Siv Ngesi was among the first to share the disturbing footage online, calling for accountability:
“Name and shame all these little bullies! I hate bullies! But I do love bullying bullies!”
He later added that he and others were searching for Katlego to offer support and ensure he receives justice and protection.
Katlego Ncapai — a Grade 10 learner and former lymphoma survivor who bravely battled cancer in 2024 — is seen enduring the violent assault. The incident has led to public calls for immediate disciplinary action and the removal of the identified students from all sports programs, including rugby.
Public reaction on social media has been strong:
“The ripple effects: When the bruises fade, but the damage doesn’t,” one X user wrote.
“Our schools are becoming trauma zones,” another added.
A parent commented, “It’s not just about discipline — where’s the empathy being taught at home?”
The Milnerton High School administration and Western Cape Education Department are under pressure to act swiftly, as the nation continues to express anger, heartbreak, and frustration over yet another violent bullying incident caught on camera.
