Yelllabarbie Nyomi and Demari Ossain Alston Killed Their Baby, Zayn Alston

A heartbreaking case out of Houston, Texas, has seen Yelllabarbie Nyomi (real name Trinity Nyomi Perez) and her partner Demari Ossain Alston, also known as FreeBand Bndman (Maribandman), charged in connection with the death of their two-month-old son, Zayn Alston.

According to reports, the infant, Zayn, had previously been removed from his parents’ custody after he was found with multiple injuries—including fractured ribs, arm, and clavicle—when he was just 10 days old in July 2024. Following those injuries, the baby was placed under the care of his maternal great-grandmother, while the parents were only allowed supervised daytime visits.

On September 9, 2024, baby Zayn was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital with severe injuries, including a skull fracture, brain bleed, and retinal hemorrhaging. Despite doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Court documents reveal that Alston, 27, is facing one count of capital murder of a victim under 10 years old, while Perez, 22, has been charged with felony injury to a child.

Investigators said Perez initially claimed her boyfriend was upstairs with the child when the injuries occurred and described him as a “good dad.” However, evidence reportedly showed internet searches on Alston’s iPhone, including:

“2-month-old baby hard to wake up”
“What happens if your 2-month-old doesn’t have a pulse?”

Police allege that after the fatal injuries, Alston tried to blame the baby’s condition on an “allergic reaction”, saying the child’s swelling was due to that.

The tragic death of Zayn Alston has sparked outrage and calls for justice as both parents remain in custody pending further investigation.
