Devout Christian Texas Democrat James Talarico Caught Following Adult Stars and Prostitutes on Instagram

James Talarico, a 36-year-old Texas Democrat and Presbyterian seminarian who has built his political identity around his Christian faith, has come under fire after being caught following porn stars, prostitutes, and OnlyFans models on Instagram.

According to a report by Axios, Talarico — a four-term Texas state representative now running for U.S. Senate — was found to have followed several adult entertainers and explicit-content creators from his verified Instagram account. The lawmaker, who often cites his faith as the foundation of his public service, reportedly follows more than 3,700 accounts, including a number of women who post sexually suggestive photos and link to adult websites.

The outlet also reported that Talarico had liked multiple posts from an Austin-based user who not only runs an OnlyFans account but also maintains a profile on an escort website. Among those he follows is adult film actress Giselle Palmer, known online by her handle @honky_tonkangel, as well as other adult performers.

Axios reported that Talarico followed about 3,700 users on Instagram, including women who share explicit or suggestive content

Talarico’s spokesperson, JT Ennis, responded to the revelations by downplaying the controversy and suggesting that the lawmaker was not personally responsible for all the account’s activity. “The social media team — including James — follows back and engages with supporters who have large followings and does not investigate their backgrounds,” Ennis told Axios.

“James has never subscribed to OnlyFans or an escort service,” the spokesperson continued. “While James was unaware of how these women make money, he does not judge them for it and will not play into efforts to smear them for clickbait articles. That’s exactly what his Christian faith calls him to do.”

The report noted that Talarico had interacted with at least one adult-content creator beyond simply following her. Screenshots shared by The New York Post show that his verified account exchanged messages with OnlyFans model Alice Greczyn, after she tagged him in a story. “Thank you, Alice!” Talarico wrote, to which Greczyn replied, “Thank YOU! Really appreciate your work. It heartens me to see there are politicians like you.”

Talarico’s campaign confirmed that this was the only direct exchange, describing it as a brief and polite acknowledgment unrelated to any inappropriate behavior.

The revelation has drawn attention not only because of the adult nature of the accounts but because of Talarico’s public image as a devout Christian Democrat. The former teacher, who joined the Texas legislature in 2018 at age 28, has long positioned himself as a progressive voice of faith — frequently speaking against the rise of “Christian nationalism” and calling for compassion and inclusion in American politics.

Earlier this year, former President Barack Obama praised Talarico as a “terrific” and “really talented young man,” while podcaster Joe Rogan went so far as to say he hoped Talarico would one day run for president, calling him “a good person” in politics.

Talarico, who regularly shares viral speeches and faith-based reflections on his Instagram account, has not yet issued a personal statement about the matter. The Daily Mail reported that the lawmaker did not respond to a request for comment made Sunday morning.
