Modiehi Ndi Maboe, the woman at the center of a viral leaked sex video allegedly involving a pastor from the Siyanikana Apostolic Church in South Africa, has reportedly been hospitalized following the public fallout from the incident.
According to information shared online, Modiehi’s sister confirmed on social media that her sibling is currently in the hospital and “fighting for her life” after the intimate video spread rapidly across social media platforms.
The footage, which appears to have been secretly recorded in what looks like the backyard of the Siyanikana Apostolic Church, shows a woman — believed to be Modiehi Ndi Maboe — engaged in a sexual act with a man alleged to be a church pastor. The video quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage, ridicule, and moral debate across South Africa.
In a heartfelt message posted online, Modiehi’s sister, identified only as Mahlaba, pleaded with the public to stop sharing the explicit footage and to respect her sister’s privacy during this difficult time.
“Good afternoon, South Africa. The girl you see in that trending video is my big sister, and I would like to apologize on her behalf,” she wrote.
“She’s not someone who goes around doing such things in public — she was under the influence of something. As we speak, she’s at the hospital fighting for her life because this video has really affected her self-esteem badly. I don’t think she’ll ever fully heal from this. Please stop sharing the video and making fun of her. My sister is a married woman — you’re all putting her marriage in jeopardy. Thank you.”
The emotional statement has drawn sympathy from many social media users who criticized the public for circulating the footage instead of showing compassion. Others called for authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding how the video was recorded and leaked, noting potential violations of privacy and consent laws under South Africa’s Cybercrimes Act.
As of now, Modiehi Ndi Maboe remains hospitalized. Neither she nor the Siyanikana Apostolic Church has issued an official statement regarding the alleged video or the claims made by her sister.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether an investigation is underway into the pastor’s involvement or the leaking of the footage.
