A pastor from St. John’s Church in South Africa has found himself at the center of controversy after a video surfaced online allegedly showing him engaged in a sexual act with a church member dressed in her uniform.
The short clip, which has since gone viral on social media, reportedly shows the unnamed pastor and a female congregant believed to be a member of the church choir in a compromising situation inside the church premises.
The footage, captioned in both Xhosa and Zulu, quickly gained traction across South African platforms. The Xhosa caption reads, “Umfundisi esabelana ngesondo nelungu lecawe (ikwayala) kwicawe yaseSt John,” while the Zulu translation states, “Umfundisi enza ucansi nelungu lesonto (ikhwaya) esontweni iSt John’s.” Both roughly translate to “A pastor engaging in a sexual act with a choir member inside St. John’s Church.”
The video has sparked outrage and shock among members of the Christian community, with many condemning the pastor’s alleged actions as deeply inappropriate and disrespectful to the church. Others have called for a formal investigation into both the authenticity of the video and the conduct of the individuals involved.
As of now, church officials from St. John’s Apostolic Church have not released an official statement regarding the viral footage. It remains unclear when or where exactly the incident took place, and whether any disciplinary steps have been taken against those involved.
Social media users have urged the public to refrain from sharing the explicit clip, warning that doing so could violate South Africa’s Cybercrimes Act, which criminalizes the distribution of intimate images without consent.
