Dha Isidro has publicly apologized after he was criticized for wearing an unauthorized Philippine National Police (PNP) uniform during a Halloween party.
The unauthorized use of PNP uniforms is strictly prohibited under Philippine law. Anyone caught wearing such attire without permission may face criminal liability for Usurpation of Authority under Articles 177 and 179 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) — covering Usurpation of Authority of Official Function and Illegal Use of Uniforms and Insignias.
Following public backlash, Dha Isidro issued a formal apology, addressing Hon. Ralph Calinisan, Commissioner, Vice-Chairperson & Executive Officer of NAPOLCOM, the Philippine National Police, and the men and women in uniform of the PNP.
In his statement, Isidro wrote:
“It has come to my attention, as well as the public, the FB post I made last Oct 31, 2025, wherein I was wearing a PNP-inspired costume for a Halloween Party which does not sit well with some who saw my post.
I immediately deleted said post after my attention was called out, but someone was already able to capture and repost it. I reached out to that person and apologized, and pleaded to delete said post, but it was already shared and had reached the attention of the Honorable Deputy Commissioner of the Napolcom, Atty. Calinisan.
For this, I am truly sorry and regret that my act of wearing a PNP-inspired costume offended the sensibilities of the dignified and respectable police in uniform, some of whom are even my good friends.
I express my deep and sincere apologies to the police in uniform who were slighted by the said post and the institutions they represent. I have no intention to malign, cause hurt, or ridicule anyone or any body with the wearing of the said costume.
It was worn in the idea of wearing a costume and to dress up as someone you are not, which is the theme of every Halloween party where anyone can dress up and pretend.
The idea to wear such a costume is with no intention to misrepresent myself or usurp any official functions of a police officer, which the law seeks to prevent. It was not made officially. The idea was solely all within the confines of a costume party.
My actions may have caused harm to some persons and institutions, and with that, I am deeply sorry. This circumstance will be a lifelong lesson for me, for which I will be more circumspect in my future decisions and actions. Again, I am truly sorry.”
Isidro concluded by emphasizing that his intent was purely for Halloween entertainment and not an attempt to impersonate a police officer
