A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a co-worker to death during their first day on the job at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Jacksonville.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), Jason Guthrie, 38, was contracted to work at the brewery’s Northside facility in Oceanway when he fatally stabbed 22-year-old Antoine Autry during an argument on Thursday afternoon around 4:30 p.m.
Both men were outside contractors, and it was their first day working at the plant, JSO said in a Facebook post.
Authorities said Guthrie and Autry got into a heated exchange, though the reason for the confrontation remains unclear. When officers arrived, they found Autry suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries shortly after.

Anheuser-Busch released a statement following the incident:
“Yesterday we were made aware of an incident involving two outside contractors at our Jacksonville Brewery. We immediately engaged with local law enforcement to ensure the security of our people and the facility and continue to cooperate with them to support the investigation.”
Court records show that Guthrie was on probation at the time of the killing for a 2020 stabbing outside a liquor store after allegedly asking another man for money. He had been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and pleaded guilty in that case last year, according to WJXT.
The previous arrest report noted that Guthrie “suffers from schizophrenia and PTSD.”
Guthrie remains in custody as the investigation continues
