Tragedy struck the Philippi area of Cape Town as Khanya London and his friend Ntsika Benzi were found stabbed and dumped in a dam in recent days.
According to reports, the victims were discovered near Vuyiseka, a community hall formerly used as a temporary high school, located across from the Golden Arrow bus depot in Philippi. Local children reportedly found the bodies and alerted authorities at the Lower Police Station in Philippi East, also known as Lower Crossroads. The children were reportedly able to identify where the victims lived.
Khanya London’s mother shared her grief on social media, writing:
“My son was stabbed and left in a dam next to Vuyiseka.”
Authorities have not yet released details regarding suspects or the motive behind the killings. The community is left shocked and mourning the senseless loss of two young lives in the area.
The investigation is ongoing, with police asking anyone with information about the murders to come forward to help bring justice for Khanya and Ntsika.
The deaths have once again highlighted concerns about violent crime in Philippi, where communities are calling for greater safety measures to protect local youth.
