A rising Latin musician and social media influencer was shot and killed in what police describe as an execution-style ambush while she sat in a parked car in Northridge, Los Angeles, early Saturday morning. Maria De La Rosa, 22 — known by her stage name DELAROSA — was inside the vehicle with two others when two male suspects reportedly approached and opened fire at close range before fleeing the scene.
The shooting occurred around 1:25 a.m. near Bryant Street, just east of Tampa Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. De La Rosa was rushed to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The two other occupants of the car suffered critical injuries and were fighting for their lives, authorities told ABC7.
Investigators are exploring the possibility that the shooting may be gang-related, though the exact motive remains unclear. As of now, no arrests have been made.
