The Cary Police Department reported that the collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. on December 5, 2025, at the intersection of Louis Stephens Drive and Morrisville Parkway. Investigators say a green Honda Civic failed to yield while making a left turn onto Louis Stephens Drive, colliding with a blue Jeep Cherokee traveling through the intersection.

Lena, who was riding as a passenger in the Civic, suffered critical injuries in the crash. She was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died. Police confirmed only that the teen was under 18, but two separate GoFundMe campaigns later identified her as Lena Goff, a beloved daughter, friend, and student.

Family and Community Devastated by Lena’s Sudden Loss

A fundraiser created on behalf of Lena’s mother, Erica Jaber, described her as a hardworking single mother and small-business owner now facing an unimaginable tragedy. Organizers noted the financial strain that comes with being self-employed, writing:

“We’re all hairstylists, so we’re in the world of if we don’t work, we don’t get paid.”

The campaign sought to help Erica cover rent, bills, and funeral arrangements as she mourns the loss of her daughter.

A separate GoFundMe was organized for Lena’s father, Brandon, who was described as deeply devoted to his daughter.

“She was his sidekick, his fishing buddy, his little girl—the light of his life,” the fundraiser stated. “During this heartbreaking time, we want to come together to support Brandon in any way we can.”
