Charlotte Mother Frezja Baker Missing After Failing to Return Home From Dentist Appointment; Family Deeply Concerned

Family members are urgently searching for 26-year-old Frezja Baker, a Charlotte mother who has been missing since Thursday, December 4. Baker, the mother of a 2-year-old son, has not been seen or heard from since the night she disappeared, leaving loved ones increasingly worried.

Baker was last seen near Lasalle and Newcastle Streets shortly before 10 p.m. on December 4. She was driving a gray-blue 2004 Honda Accord with a South Carolina temporary tag, according to police. The vehicle has not been located.

Her brother, Fred Baker, said Frezja had gone to a dentist appointment earlier in the day before dropping her young son off at their grandparents’ home. Around 10:30 p.m., she called Fred to say she was about an hour away. She never arrived.

“My sister never came home. She always comes home to check on her kid. If she don’t come home, she’ll call to check on her kid,” Fred Baker said, emphasizing how unusual her disappearance is.

The family became alarmed when Frezja’s phone began going straight to voicemail on Friday. Even more concerning, she did not call to check on her son—behavior her brother says is completely out of character.

A missing person’s report has been filed with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, and relatives have been searching the city nonstop.

“Anyone who has seen her, just bring my sister home. And if y’all do see anything or heard anything, call police or contact us. We’re all on Facebook, everybody knows us. Just let us know that she will be okay and she will come home,” Fred Baker pleaded.

Peaches Johnson, Baker’s hairstylist and friend, said the uncertainty has been overwhelming.

“It’s very hard trying to search the city to find her. Trying not to think the worst, trying to stay positive and stay prayed up,” Johnson said.

Police continue to search for both Baker and her vehicle as the investigation remains active.
