Douglas Alves da Silva has been arrested following a violent incident that led to the death of Tainara Souza Santos, a 30-year-old woman, authorities confirmed.
According to reports, the attack occurred along Marginal Tietê, in the northern zone of São Paulo. Santos was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by her former partner, Alves da Silva.
Witnesses reported seeing Santos trapped in a moving car and intervened, managing to stop the vehicle and rescue her. Emergency responders rushed her to a hospital, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit in critical condition.
Despite extensive medical efforts, Santos died on Thursday, December 25, due to the severity of her injuries.
Authorities identified Douglas Alves da Silva, Santos’ ex-boyfriend, as the primary suspect. Police said he attempted to flee the scene but was arrested a short time later.
The case remains under investigation as officials work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
