Andres Arizmendi, 43, was killed by police officers on Christmas Day following an incident involving an alleged assault, according to a news release from the Harlingen Police Department.
Authorities responded to a call on December 25 reporting that Arizmendi had been involved in an altercation with a family member. Details about the exact circumstances leading to the shooting have not yet been released.
The Harlingen Police Department described Arizmendi as a 5-foot-7-inch Hispanic man, weighing approximately 200 pounds, with a bald head and brown eyes. Police have warned the public that he was believed to be armed and dangerous prior to the incident.
