Erwin Licuben Faguinney Identified as Suspect in Brutal Killing of Axle the Dog

Erwin Licuben Faguinney has been identified as the suspect accused of brutally killing a dog named Axle by beating the animal, according to information circulating online and within the community.

Reports describe Faguinney as a resident of Sadanga, Mountain Province, a former municipal councilor who served from 2013 to 2016, and currently employed as a rescue vehicle driver under the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sadanga.

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has issued an official statement condemning the killing and vowing to pursue justice for Axle. In its December 10 announcement, PAWS said it is prepared to take legal action against the LGU driver responsible for the dog’s death.

To move forward formally, PAWS is urging witnesses to come forward and assist in building the case. The organization is also seeking the owner of the CCTV footage that allegedly captured the violent act on December 4.

PAWS emphasized that while video evidence is crucial, it cannot be used in court unless authenticated. “The criminal case can only proceed with the help of witnesses or those with personal knowledge of the crime,” the group stated. “CCTV footage on its own will not stand or be admissible in court unless its source is determined and its authenticity is established, including confirmation that it has not been altered.”

The investigation remains ongoing as PAWS and concerned citizens push for accountability in the killing of Axle.
