Woman Killed in Bonneau Collision Identified as Jessica Nicole Way

A fatal traffic collision in Bonneau late Tuesday evening claimed the life of 31-year-old Jessica Nicole Way, a resident of Alcolu, South Carolina, authorities confirmed.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on U.S. Highway 52 near Butterbean Drive. According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), Way was traveling eastbound in her GMC SUV when a Honda SUV crossed the center line and struck her vehicle. Way was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda SUV was hospitalized with injuries and is expected to recover.

Authorities said the Honda SUV veered left of center, causing the collision. The SCHP is actively investigating the circumstances of the crash, including potential contributing factors such as speed or impairment. No additional charges have been announced as of Wednesday morning.
