Lilron ElAre Allred has been identified as the suspect in the killing of an 81-year-old woman whose body was discovered Sunday morning in St. Louis County. Authorities later apprehended the suspect at a Crown Mart gas station following a standoff with police.
According to St. Louis County Police, officers responded around 11 a.m. Sunday to a report of a deceased woman in the 8500 block of Jenny Drive. The victim was found with fatal stab wounds.
Police spokesperson Vera Clay said investigators were quickly able to identify a suspect and a vehicle connected to the case. That information was shared with neighboring law enforcement agencies as part of the search.
Later Sunday afternoon, officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) located the suspect’s vehicle at the Crown Mart gas station near Natural Bridge Road and Union Boulevard.
SLMPD spokesperson Mitch McCoy said the suspect refused to exit the vehicle, prompting officers to call in SWAT units. Authorities cleared the area of pedestrians and temporarily shut down the intersection while negotiations were underway.
After extended efforts, police used non-lethal tactics, including bean bag rounds and flash-bang devices, to take the suspect into custody. McCoy emphasized that officers used the least amount of force necessary to safely resolve the situation.
The suspect was transported to a hospital as a precaution following the arrest.
At this time, police have not officially confirmed the relationship between the suspect and the victim. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released by authorities.
