Nobert Zapambela Identified as Suspect in Brooklyn Mall Phone Snatching Incident, Authorities Seek Public Help

Nobert Zapambela has been identified by online investigators and community members as the suspected individual involved in a phone-snatching incident at a Brooklyn mall, according to information currently circulating on social media.

In a widely shared video, the suspect is seen walking closely behind a woman who was using her phone. Moments later, he allegedly snatches the device from her hands before quickly entering what appears to be an Uber vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Additional information shared online claims the suspect previously used the Instagram handle “Nobert Mc Lava Lava,” which has since been deleted. He is also described in circulating reports as being of Zimbabwean nationality, though this detail has not been independently confirmed by authorities.

A community alert accompanying the video reads:

“This is the suspect who stole a phone in Brooklyn, Pretoria, fleeing in a silver Toyota Corolla (registration: HD 23 TZ GP). Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.”

The same message alleges that the individual was previously photographed at the Beitbridge Border Post while traveling toward Zimbabwe. Law enforcement has not publicly confirmed this detail.

As of now, no official police statement has been released confirming an arrest or formal charges. Authorities are urging anyone with credible information related to the incident or the suspect’s whereabouts to report it through the appropriate channels.

The investigation remains ongoing.
