Online users are circulating unverified claims about Indresh Upadhyay’s wife, identified in posts as Shipra Bawa, with Reddit discussions alleging that she is an “intercaste divorcee.” None of these claims have been confirmed by Upadhyay, his family, or any official source.

According to a Reddit thread, users claimed that “Shipra Bawa” is the real name of Upadhyay’s new wife — contrasting with the surname written on the wedding invitation, which reportedly listed her as Shipra Sharma. Some social media users questioned whether the surname change was intentional or simply misinformation.

One widely shared comment reads:
“Recently kathavachak Indresh Upadhyay ji got married with Shipra but there’s a controversy that she is Shipra Bawa, not Sharma. I don’t care about the surname, but why change it?
