American Tourist Boris Jozic and Wife Cristina Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide at Aruba Resort

An American tourist and his wife were found dead at a luxury resort in Palm Beach, Aruba, in what authorities are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide, according to local officials.

The victims were identified through community and online sources as Boris Jozic and his wife Cristina Jozic, who were reportedly visiting the island to celebrate the New Year. Boris Jozic was the owner of Steel Fitness Gym in Morton Grove, and the couple had been married for many years.

Police Central Dispatch received a call at approximately 8:44 a.m. on Sunday, January 4, reporting a man lying motionless on the ground outside the St. Regis Hotel. Aruba police responded and secured the scene, while paramedics pronounced the man dead. Preliminary findings indicate he had fallen from one of the upper floors of the resort.

Authorities then accessed the hotel room associated with the incident, where they discovered a female victim believed to be his wife. Early investigative information suggests the man may have killed his wife before jumping from the balcony, though police emphasized that the case remains under active investigation.

Aruba police described the incident as tragic and unusual, and said no official names have yet been released. However, witnesses and community members identified the couple online, and a GoFundMe was later established in Cristina Jozic’s name.

The fundraiser described Cristina as “a proud mother of five, a loving grandmother, a devoted daughter, loving sister, cherished aunt, and a dear friend to so many,” who was “taken from those who loved her on January 4, 2026.”

No further details have been released as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
