Anne Isenhower, a prominent public relations consultant with deep ties to Atlanta’s PR community, died by suicide on January 1, 2026, weeks after the unexpected death of her son, Max Isenhower.
The news was confirmed by longtime colleague and friend Mitch Leff, who said Isenhower had been devastated by Max’s passing on December 7, 2025. Max, her only child, had recently begun college at New York University.
Isenhower, who operated Anne Isenhower Communications LLC, brought more than 25 years of experience in public relations, working across major agencies and nonprofits. Though based in New York, she remained a highly respected figure in Atlanta’s PR scene. Her work focused on national media relations for healthcare, corporate, and global health organizations, including Deloitte, Rotary International, and the Task Force for Global Health.
Leff described Isenhower as “one of the best PR professionals in Atlanta,” noting her role as a political activist, an Atlanta Olympics veteran, and a dedicated mentor to young professionals. Her career achievements included generating billions of dollars in earned media coverage and receiving Phoenix Awards for recent work with MAP International.
In a letter shared by Leff, Isenhower wrote movingly about her son, calling Max her greatest achievement and stating that everything she did was for him. She wrote that every moment spent with Max was a joy and expressed a belief that they would be reunited, describing him as “gentle, sweet, smart, funny, kind, goofy, and thoughtful.”
Leff urged the public not to judge Isenhower’s decision but to remember her life’s work—her advocacy, mentorship, and dedication to healthcare and nonprofit causes. Plans are underway for a gathering at Manuel’s Tavern in Atlanta, with details on donations to be announced.
