Chicago police are searching for Martez Walls, who authorities say is wanted in connection with a deadly apartment shooting in the Roseland neighborhood that left one man dead and another critically injured. Police are also seeking Miracle Archibald, who is believed to be with Walls following the incident.
The shooting occurred around 4:33 p.m. Wednesday inside an apartment in the 0–100 block of East 100th Street, according to police. Investigators said two men, ages 23 and 26, were inside the apartment when they were approached by someone they knew. The suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire, striking both victims multiple times.
The 23-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The 26-year-old man was transported to Christ Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Authorities have not yet publicly released the name of the deceased victim. However, family members identified him online as “CJ”, stating he was shot and killed inside his own home.
In a widely shared social media post, a family member alleged that the suspect was the victim’s longtime friend and had been staying at the apartment. The post claims that after the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle along with a woman identified as Miracle Archibald. Police have not confirmed all details from the post but are actively searching for both individuals.
According to the family’s account, the suspect may be driving a black Kia Soul. Police have urged anyone who sees Walls or Archibald not to approach them and to contact authorities immediately.
At this time, investigators have not announced any formal charges, and the case remains under active investigation.
Anyone with information related to the shooting or the whereabouts of Martez Walls or Miracle Archibald is asked to contact police or call 911.
