Elijaih Thurman Taylor Charged After Road Rage Shooting That Killed Paul Greenwood, Witness Khadijah Sha’da Narrates Incident

A 23-year-old North Carolina man has been charged with murder following a deadly road-rage shooting in Horry County that left a Nichols man dead, authorities said. Witness Khadijah Sha’da has provided an account of the events leading up to the shooting.

The incident occurred around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday along Highway 90 near Star Bluff and Long Bay Roads, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office. Officials said the shooting followed a traffic crash that escalated into an altercation.

Elijaih Thurman Taylor, of Nakina, North Carolina, allegedly shot Paul Jones Greenwood, 33, multiple times during the confrontation. Greenwood was pronounced dead at the scene.

Taylor was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center late Tuesday morning and is being held without bond. In addition to the murder charge, he faces a charge of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to online jail records.

A video obtained by News13 shows the moments leading up to the argument and the subsequent shooting, providing additional context to the violent encounter. The footage was captured by a bystander who witnessed the incident.
