Noah Epperson Home Recovering After Brutal Circle K Assault; Cooper Camferdam Faces First-Degree Battery Charges

Noah Epperson, 20, is recovering at home after surviving a violent assault at a Circle K gas station in Hot Springs that left him unconscious and hospitalized. The January 17 incident stemmed from an earlier party confrontation and escalated when groups converged at the store on Malvern Avenue around 11:30 p.m.

Hot Springs police arriving at the scene found Epperson unresponsive. Video evidence captured 18-year-old Cooper Riley Camferdam of Benton stomping on Epperson’s head, causing severe injuries including a fractured skull, jaw fracture, head scratches, bruising, and possible brain swelling.

Epperson’s mother, Katie, described rushing to the hospital after being alerted by a friend. She said her son has recently been released from intensive care but will require a follow-up CT scan to monitor internal injuries. Without health insurance, the family is facing mounting medical bills. Katie emphasized that Camferdam must be held accountable and cover costs, saying those involved in the attack must answer for their actions.

Camferdam was arrested and charged with first-degree battery, a Class Y felony carrying 10 to 40 years or life. He appeared in court on January 21, where bond was set at $500,000. Authorities continue to investigate additional participants in the assault and bystanders who filmed the attack instead of intervening, warning that more arrests are expected.

A GoFundMe organized for Epperson’s recovery has raised over $11,000, reflecting community support and concern. Hot Springs police thanked members of the public for tips and encouraged anyone with information to call 501-321-6789, extension 6767.

The incident has left the community shaken, with Epperson’s family urging justice as he begins the slow process of recovery from the brutal attack.
