Antonio Alfieri Removed from University of Georgia Campus After Viral Video Allegations by Street Sweeperz Unit

A math instructor identified as Antonio Alfieri has been removed from campus by the University of Georgia after a viral social media video alleged he engaged in inappropriate online conversations with someone he believed to be a minor.

According to university officials, the instructor—described as a limited-term assistant professor teaching advanced calculus—was taken off campus pending an investigation shortly after the video began circulating online. The footage shows Alfieri being confronted by individuals associated with Street Sweeperz Unit, a social media group that claims to expose suspected online predators by posing as minors and documenting interactions.

The video spread rapidly across platforms and drew significant attention from students and residents in Athens, where the university is located. In the recording, members of the group accuse Alfieri of sending inappropriate messages and attempting to arrange a meeting with someone they say he believed was a 14-year-old boy.

At this time, no law enforcement agency has publicly confirmed criminal charges, and it remains unclear whether any official complaint or investigation has been initiated beyond the university’s administrative review.

Street Sweeperz Unit says its mission is to identify individuals they suspect of targeting minors online and to share evidence publicly. The group sometimes collaborates with online personalities, including Hoodanchorye, who appeared in the confrontation video. Hoodanchorye is known for posting on-scene reports and local updates from around Atlanta and has previously interviewed public figures such as Gavin Newsom during public events.

In a statement provided through a university spokesperson, the University of Georgia confirmed only that the instructor had been removed from campus while the matter is reviewed, without commenting on the allegations themselves.

The situation remains under review, and further details may emerge if authorities or university officials release additional findings.
