Fans Accuse Jose Gabriel Campos Anderson of Running “Fabrizio Fauna” Account After Alleged Indirect Support for Gianluca Prestianni Amid Racism Controversy Involving Vinícius Júnior at Champions League Match

Football fans online are calling out Jose Gabriel Campos Anderson, alleging he is behind the “Fabrizio Fauna” account on X (formerly Twitter), after the account appeared to indirectly support Gianluca Prestianni following accusations of racist abuse toward Vinícius Júnior.

The controversy stems from a tense Champions League match in Lisbon between Benfica and Real Madrid, which was temporarily halted for roughly 10 minutes after Vinícius reported alleged racist remarks to referee François Letexier. Following the complaint, Vinícius and several teammates left the pitch while officials addressed the situation.

Vinícius — who has previously spoken publicly about being targeted by racist abuse during his career — later posted on Instagram: “Racists are, above all, cowards.”

Prestianni has denied making any racist remark. However, he could reportedly face a minimum 10-match ban from European competition if disciplinary authorities determine he violated anti-racism rules.

Benfica released a statement defending Prestianni and backing his account of events. The club said that, given the distance between players, Real Madrid athletes could not have clearly heard what they claimed, adding that they “fully support” Prestianni’s version.

Online speculation intensified after fans claimed that posts from the Fabrizio Fauna account appeared sympathetic toward Prestianni, prompting accusations that Anderson operates or manages the profile. No official confirmation has been provided linking him to the account.

The governing bodies overseeing the competition have not yet announced a final ruling, and investigations into the alleged incident are ongoing.
