Juan Antonio Garcia Named Person of Interest in Disappearance of Aurelia Choc Cac and Her Two Children

Authorities are searching for a mother and her two children who were reported missing under suspicious circumstances in Mobile County, Alabama, with investigators naming a person of interest in the case.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched on January 31, 2026, to a residence in the 9000 block of Ben Hamilton Road after receiving a report regarding the unexplained disappearance of a woman and her children.

The missing mother has been identified as Aurelia Choc Cac, 40. She is described as having black hair, standing approximately 5 feet tall, and weighing around 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a maroon jacket and tan joggers.

Her children are:

  • Niurka Zuleta Choc, 17, with black hair, approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighing about 100 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black top and plaid pants.

  • Anthony Garcia Choc, 2, weighing approximately 30 pounds, with black hair. He was last seen wearing a cartoon-character hoodie and blue jeans.

Investigators said the family was last seen at their residence around 3:00 p.m. the day prior to the report. During a subsequent investigation, deputies observed signs of a struggle inside the home, raising concerns about the family’s safety.

Authorities have identified Juan Antonio Garcia, a 30-year-old Hispanic male, as a person of interest in the case. Garcia, whose date of birth is June 14, 1994, is believed to have ties to Amarillo, Texas. Officials emphasized that a person of interest is not a suspect but someone investigators believe may have information relevant to the case.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office stated that investigators believe the mother and her children may have been taken against their will and warned that they could be in danger.
