Kevin Durant Faces NBA Investigation After Burner Account “Getoffmydickerson” Leaks Alleged Criticism of Jabari Smith, Teammates, and Coaches

Kevin Durant is under scrutiny from the NBA after a burner account he allegedly operated, named Getoffmydickerson, surfaced online with messages criticizing teammates, former teammates, coaches, and even commenting on political matters.

The controversy reportedly prompted the Houston Rockets to hold a team meeting in late January regarding Durant’s online behavior. A Rockets staff member allegedly noticed Durant tweeting from the burner account before practice. Durant reportedly left the meeting early, frustrated.

Leaked screenshots from the account, if authentic, show Durant expressing blunt frustrations, including:

• Criticism of Jabari Smith, calling him “lowkey a retard” and claiming he “can’t make a f**kin shot or get a stop.”

• Complaints about team play and decision-making, including statements like, “Ima turn the ball over with this shitty ass team. Idgaf. Your franchise player can’t shoot or defend. That’s a wayyyyyyy bigger issue than my turnovers. Remember, these guys are your future.”

Other leaks reference Durant’s time with the Phoenix Suns, describing former teammate Devin Booker and coach Frank Vogel as “Two dictators… Stalin and Hitler. Mussolini and Kim Jong Un” and lamenting the team’s uneven credit: “The Suns are my team when we lose and Book’s team when we win.”

Amid the criticisms, Durant’s burner account also expressed a rare positive note about Ben Simmons: “I swear I miss Ben Simmons. Least that n*gga would give me the ball.”

The account allegedly even commented on financial matters, responding to a post about Israeli drone investments with: “If they need drones!! We got ya.”

This is not Durant’s first time using burner accounts. He has previously admitted to operating anonymous profiles to express himself freely and interact with fans without restraint, explaining that his goal is not to create hate but to speak honestly.

  

Despite Durant’s previous clarifications, this latest leak has reignited public debate about his online behavior. The NBA has confirmed that Durant will be investigated, though no official disciplinary action has been announced.

Durant’s relationship with social media continues to attract attention, blending his off-court persona with his public image almost as prominently as his basketball career.

The burner account Getoffmydickerson allegedly posted:

• “I really gotta laugh to stop from crying.”

• “I swear I miss Ben Simmons. Least that nigga would give me the ball.”

• “I can’t trust Jabari to make a fuckin shot or get a stop. Just don’t give him a tech ft tbh.”

• “He’s lowkey retarded.”
