Patines Reyes Pacrines Arrested After Allegedly Killing 15-Year-Old Brithany Nahomy Reyna and Transporting Her Body in a Wheelbarrow

Patines Reyes Pacrines, a 16-year-old also known as “Patines,” is currently in police custody after allegedly killing Brithany Nahomy Reyna, a 15-year-old girl who had been reported missing since January 26.

Authorities say Brithany’s body was discovered inside a well in shallow terrain in the Barrio de la Industria sector, northwest of Monterrey. Preliminary findings indicate the victim was wrapped in plastic bags and had at least one gunshot wound. Forensic experts are conducting DNA tests to officially confirm her identity.

Investigators believe Reyes Pacrines maintained a romantic relationship with Brithany and is the primary suspect in what authorities are treating as a femicide. According to the inquest, the teen allegedly deprived Brithany of her liberty for an undetermined period before killing her. After the crime, he is accused of wrapping her body, using tools including a shovel and a wheelbarrow, and moving her remains several blocks through the street before burying her in a well located in a waste area of Solidaridad City. Authorities say he then returned to his normal routine.

Since Brithany’s disappearance was reported, Reyes Pacrines had been listed as the prime suspect. Prosecutors questioned him multiple times and placed him under surveillance. Officials say the evidence eventually became overwhelming, leading to a confession in which he allegedly revealed the exact location where the body had been hidden.

Brithany’s aunt, Socorro, said the teen told her mother she was only going to her boyfriend’s house briefly to drop something off and planned to return shortly. That was the last time her family heard from her. Socorro said she was the last family member to see Brithany alive.

After authorities confirmed the body had been found, relatives rushed to the scene as a large ministerial operation was underway. Police also searched the residence where Brithany was last seen and other related properties to gather additional evidence.

Because the suspect is a minor, the case will proceed through a special juvenile court, a fact that has sparked public outrage. Brithany’s family has called for justice, expressing fear that a reduced sentence could allow the suspect to return to society and potentially harm others.

Brithany’s father and grandfather have been summoned to the Forensic Medical Service to formally identify her remains as the investigation continues.
