In Yalova, Şener Ergin and his father, Servet Ergin, were identified as the attackers involved in a violent incident against Muhammed Baca and his 14-month-old daughter, İkra.
The altercation stemmed from a long-standing dispute between the Ergin and Baca families, who had been living in the same building for about a year. The disagreement reportedly began over claims that the Baca children were making excessive noise. On the evening of February 20, a verbal argument erupted between Muhammed Baca and Şener Ergin when Baca returned home.
After receiving a report, local gendarmerie units arrived at the scene. While holding his daughter İkra, Baca was assaulted with a stick by Şener Ergin. Both the father and child sustained serious injuries and were taken to Yalova Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi for treatment.
Medical examinations revealed that 14-month-old İkra suffered three skull fractures and traumatic injury to her right eye, while Muhammed Baca sustained a broken nose.
Following the incident, Şener Ergin was arrested on charges of “intentional injury” and sent to prison. Servet Ergin, the other attacker, was questioned by prosecutors and released.
Authorities noted that Servet Ergin had a prior restraining order against him after allegedly threatening Muhammed Baca by leaving a bullet at his door.
