Ex-Boyfriend Kills Shanti Mack and Loso Loko Chello in Westside Chicago Double Homicide

Chicago, IL — A double homicide on the Westside of Chicago left a woman and a man dead after an ex-boyfriend allegedly broke into a residence and opened fire, police reported.

The incident occurred on March 30, 2026, at approximately 9:42 p.m. in the area of Francisco Avenue and Washington Boulevard. Officers responded to a report of two people shot inside a residence.

According to authorities, a physical altercation erupted between a 31-year-old male offender and a 44-year-old male victim inside the home. During the confrontation, the victim reportedly attacked the offender with a sharp object. In response, the offender produced a firearm and fired multiple rounds.

The male victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. 

A 38-year-old female victim, identified as Shanti Mack, attempted to intervene in the altercation and was struck in the head by gunfire. She was also transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital and later pronounced dead.

Police confirmed that the offender is a valid FOID cardholder, and the firearm used in the shooting was recovered at the scene. He is currently in custody, and charges are pending.

Area Three Detectives of the 12th District are actively investigating the incident.

Authorities have not released additional details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
