Authorities in Hinds County have launched a double homicide investigation after two missing teenagers—Terry Burrell Jr. and Khloe Hudson—were found shot to death along a roadway on Monday.
The victims, both 16 years old, had been reported missing to the Jackson Police Department within the previous 24 hours before their bodies were discovered.
Bodies Found by Sanitation Workers
According to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones, the discovery was made shortly before noon in the 1700 block of South Springdale Road during what began as a routine workday for sanitation crews.
Workers immediately contacted authorities after finding the bodies, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Victims Identified as Local High School Students
Officials identified the victims as Terry Burrell Jr. and Khloe Hudson, both students at Lanier High School. Sheriff Jones confirmed the two teenagers knew one another.
Investigators said both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigation Into Double Homicide Ongoing
Authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths, including how the teens ended up at the location where they were found.
At this stage, no suspects have been identified, and no arrests have been made. However, Sheriff Jones noted that the case does not appear to be a random act of violence.
Investigators continue to process the scene, gather evidence, and reconstruct the timeline of the victims’ final movements.

The case has deeply impacted the local community. What began as a search for two missing teenagers quickly turned into a tragic double homicide investigation.
For the victims’ families, the shift from hope to heartbreak unfolded in less than a day.
