Reggie Wade Honors Late Daughter Genises Nova on Her Birthday After Mother Adrienne Reid Charged in Child’s Death

A grieving father is remembering his daughter on what would have been her third birthday after investigators confirmed the tragic death of 2-year-old Genises Nova Reid, who authorities say was killed on Christmas night in 2025.

Child Reported Dead Following Christmas Day Incident

According to investigators, Genises was killed shortly after returning home from spending time with relatives on December 25, 2025. Authorities allege the child’s mother, Adrienne Vanessa Reid, is responsible for the killing.

Detectives say surveillance footage from the apartment complex shows Reid placing a duffel bag containing the toddler’s body into a dumpster. The footage also allegedly shows the bag containing some of the child’s toys and other belongings.

Officials later charged Reid with capital murder and abuse of a corpse in connection with the case.

Father Shares Emotional Birthday Message

On March 9, which would have been Genises’ third birthday, her father Reggie Wade posted an emotional message online remembering his daughter and addressing the intense attention the case has received.

In his statement, Wade expressed frustration over what he described as false narratives circulating on social media while continuing to hold onto hope regarding the situation.

“My mind gone, my heart mad, my soul so pissed… imagine waking up every day and people saying your child is dead,” Wade wrote. “No matter how bad you hate a man, children are always innocent… in due time God will reveal the truth. Happy Birthday Genesis.”

Wade also said the last time he spoke with his daughter was through FaceTime, shortly before the alleged crime occurred.

Authorities Preparing Landfill Search

Investigators say they are preparing an extensive search operation at a local landfill where the dumpster’s contents were transported. Officials believe the child’s remains may be located there.

Authorities say the search area has been narrowed to approximately 200 square feet, though locating remains in a landfill environment can be extremely difficult due to decomposition and the volume of waste.

The search will involve specialized equipment and modern investigative techniques, with additional experts being brought in to assist.

Officials confirmed that outside teams from Atlanta are expected to help with the search efforts as part of what authorities describe as an “all-hands-on-deck” operation.

Prosecutors Seek Maximum Penalty

The district attorney handling the case said prosecutors intend to pursue the death penalty if the suspect is convicted.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as search teams work to locate evidence connected to the case.
