Hammond Teen Amari Sexton Banned from Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival Following Viral TikTok, Police Investigate Hand Gestures and Lyrics

Ponchatoula police are investigating a viral TikTok video involving 19-year-old Amari Sexton, also known as Feezy Maripresha, which has led to his ban from the upcoming Strawberry Festival.

On March 29, 2026, detectives from the Ponchatoula Police Department received a Crime Stoppers tip regarding a TikTok video showing Sexton dancing to rap lyrics, accompanied by a caption referencing the Strawberry Festival. The video has since gone viral, accumulating over 80,000 views.

Police Chief Bry Layrisson said the video raised public concern because of the lyrics and hand gestures, which some viewers interpreted as threatening.

With assistance from the Louisiana State Analytical and Fusion Exchange (LA-SAFE), investigators located Sexton at his residence in Hammond. A search warrant was executed at his home, and several electronic devices were seized for further examination.

Chief Layrisson emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. “Out of an abundance of caution, Amari Sexton has been banned from the Strawberry Festival grounds for the upcoming event,” he said.

The Ponchatoula Police Department is urging anyone with information about the video or related concerns to contact authorities.
