Keyriana Jimenez Rodriguez, 18, Killed by Boyfriend in Jackson Heights Murder-Suicide; Queens Family ‘Horrified’ by Tragic Death

An 18-year-old woman has been identified as the victim of a tragic murder-suicide in Queens, where police say her boyfriend fatally shot her before turning the gun on himself.

Keyriana Jimenez Rodriguez was found dead inside an apartment on 84th Street near 34th Avenue in Jackson Heights early Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD. Officers responding to a 911 call around 1:45 a.m. discovered her with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, torso, and abdomen. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 20-year-old man, believed to be her boyfriend, was found nearby with a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities say he also died at the scene. His identity has not yet been publicly released.

Argument Preceded Deadly Shooting

Investigators say the shooting followed a heated argument between the couple inside the apartment. A relative in the home reportedly heard the two fighting moments before multiple gunshots rang out.

Police are treating the case as a domestic incident and an apparent murder-suicide, with investigators believing the man shot Rodriguez before taking his own life.

Family and Community in Shock

The death of Keyriana Jimenez Rodriguez has left her family, both in New York and in the Dominican Republic, devastated.

“This has been a massive shock for the family,” her father, Kelvin Adrián Jiménez, told local media.

Her grandmother, Adriana de la Cruz, said she adored her granddaughter and described her as “more than a granddaughter, like a daughter.”

Rodriguez had been living in the United States with her mother, according to reports.

Troubled Relationship Noted by Neighbors

Neighbors said the couple’s relationship was often volatile, with frequent arguments that could be heard throughout the building.

“They were always fighting. It was terrible,” one neighbor said. “They would shout awful things at one another. Everyone could hear.”

According to authorities, the suspect’s 19-year-old brother and a neighbor called 911 after hearing the gunshots.

GoFundMe Launched for Funeral Expenses

In the wake of the tragedy, an online fundraiser has been created to support Rodriguez’s family and help cover funeral costs. The campaign describes her as someone who will be remembered for her “light, her spirit, and the love she left behind.”

As of Thursday, the fundraiser had raised more than $11,000.

Investigation Ongoing

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official causes of death as the investigation continues.
