Myneika Scott Killed by Estranged Husband Titus Scott in Grovetown Murder-Suicide After Months of Threats and Harassment, Authorities Say

A Grovetown mother was killed by her estranged husband in a murder-suicide following months of reported threats and harassment, according to authorities.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a home in the 500 block of Oxbow Drive shortly after 5 p.m. on Wednesday. When they arrived, they found 36-year-old Myneika Scott suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Investigators said her estranged husband, 37-year-old Titus Scott, confronted her outside the residence before shooting her and fleeing the scene in a pickup truck.

Deputies located the vehicle a short time later in Evans. A brief law enforcement pursuit followed, ending when the vehicle came to a stop. Authorities said Titus Scott died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Myneika and Titus Scott were married and shared three children but had been separated since December 2024.

In the months leading up to the fatal murder-suicide in Grovetown, law enforcement had multiple documented interactions with the couple, revealing what officials described as an escalating pattern of threats and concerning behavior.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Myneika Scott contacted deputies at least three times since October 2025 regarding her estranged husband.

In one October 2025 incident, she reported that Titus Scott followed her home from their daughter’s softball game and threatened to damage their shared vehicle with a baseball bat.

In November 2025, she again called authorities requesting a welfare check after receiving a troubling text message from him that read, “Let’s hope there’s life after death.” Deputies later found Titus Scott in possession of a firearm and an almost empty bottle of liquor.

In the final days before her death, investigators said Titus Scott called Myneika more than 80 times over a three-day period, using both his own phone number and a “No Caller ID.”

On March 25, authorities said Titus Scott entered Myneika’s home on Oxbow Drive while she was not there and concealed her laptop. She filed a complaint with the sheriff’s office. When questioned, Titus told deputies he had gone to the home to visit his daughter.

Deputies advised Myneika Scott of her legal options at the time. However, she declined to pursue charges, expressing that she still wanted Titus Scott to be able to see their children.

Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation into the Grovetown murder-suicide continues.
