A popular Bangladeshi gaming content creator has died after a suspected drunk-driving crash on Malaysia’s MEX Highway, just moments after arriving in the country for a holiday with his wife.
Muzahid Millad, 22, widely known online for his YouTube channel Advance Gaming, was killed in the early hours of April 23 when the vehicle he was traveling in was struck while en route from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
His wife, Nafisa Tabassum Adiba, 23, was injured in the crash and is currently receiving treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
The couple, from Habiganj, Bangladesh, had just arrived in Malaysia for a week-long vacation when the tragedy occurred.
Authorities have arrested a 31-year-old military serviceman in connection with the crash. Police said a breathalyzer test indicated alcohol levels above the legal limit, though further investigations are ongoing. A drug test conducted on the suspect returned negative.
The case is being investigated under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers driving under the influence causing death. If convicted, the suspect could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to RM100,000.
Millad’s death has sparked an outpouring of grief across the online gaming community, where he had built a large following. His YouTube channel had amassed nearly 800,000 subscribers, making him a well-known figure among Bangladeshi gaming fans.
Hashtags such as #JusticeForMuzahid and #JusticeForAdvanceGaming began trending online as supporters called for accountability.
A statement shared on his YouTube channel confirmed his death and asked fans to keep him in their prayers.
Family members have also spoken out. Nafisa’s uncle, Mohibul Hassan, called for justice and questioned how suspected drunk drivers are able to remain on the road, urging authorities to take firm action.
According to reports, this was the couple’s second visit to Malaysia. They had been married for two years and were beginning what was meant to be a joyful trip before it turned tragic.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash as the case develops.
