According to police, officers responded around 10 a.m. to conduct a wellness check at the couple’s residence in Coral Springs. Upon arrival, they discovered the 38-year-old city leader unresponsive with a gunshot wound.

Emergency responders pronounced Nancy Metayer-Bowen dead at the scene.
